Silverwind - is Gold @ Medieval Faire

The melody of the Song of Silverwind will draw you in…it is an eternal melody… one that enchants and entrances… an unforgettable experience of Medieval Times and Role-play… this is what defines Silverwind.   The name alone is enthralling!  Silverwind has opened its doors in January 2017. A highlight of visiting Silverwind is to actually meet some of the team that worked together to create the Sim as it is situated currently.  The original build and Sim layout was created by Seralath Resident, Atrum Aton and many others that contributed so much to the essence of Silverwind. To carry on the legacy, the current teams of builders and creators have put their hearts and souls into making something that they liked and -- something others  in SL will  enjoy. All  are  welcome.

 Silverwind is a gold Sponsor of the Medieval RFL Fair that is happening through June 18.  They have put their money where their mouth is so to speak and Medieval Faire RFL is so appreciative.   As they put it, “It was a good cause and we wanted our new sim to be known. We purchased items along with our donations. We know it is a good cause and we've advertised the fair and sent people to it as well… we are committed.”

The most important thing to know about Silverwind is that it was created for the players. They want to be a place that anyone can call home. That’s why they have a simple dice system; the beauty is that you can create your own spells!   And, better yet, you can also apply for a race that is not on Silverwind’s list.   Another way to spend time on Silverwind is to participate in a storyline or  small event "npc" attacks.  A newsflash ---  is that they are planning larger scale events in the future. 

 If you fall in love with Silverwind, you can even rent a home and create a business.  As for the future, the creators know that the sim will grow with the players and that stories count. The results of the storyline and events have an effect on the sim and the lore and the lure of Silverwind; the hope is that the Silverwind player base will grow along with additional sim build outs. The hall exploded with  cheers... I could not stand it... I ran  to the terrace alone... waiting for  Mr. X... cheers of  bravo and  cries of bravo --- I  try to shut it all  out...I turn pale and begin to  tremble, and I wonder... are they with us or... with them... and then I wonder ... why.....

In the beginning it was always so much easier.  I remember the first time we met. There was something captivating in his appearance, a charismatic presence, especially when our gazes met. What miraculous hours we spent together talking late into the night.

Park Place @ Swank

Swank is almost over but there are a few landscape designs still available for this month. One is the Spring Bench Scene by HJM Designs that offers 22 single and 16 couple animations. It is only 12  prims. It is an exclusive at Swank for $200 L. Afterward, it will be available at their main Store for $279.

The Spring bench scene comes complete with flowers, trees, the bench and lots of couples and solo animations - I had fun relaxing drinking a cup of coffee after working on my laptop with this!

Another cute offering is the Tree and Hammock set for couples and singles. The tree is really cool because you can change the color of it for the season!  It is low prim too the tree is 9 and the hammock is 6 LI. The furniture is "experience" enabled for a smoother transition of props/attachments.

Mr. X and the tale of the spring fairy & strawberry maid- Isa d orable @ Swank

Every spring the lavender fairy arrives at her favorite glen to visit a magical pool of water know for purity and the power to remove all perceived obstacles and sickness. A pool of rejuvenation surrounded by magnificent horses with lavender tails and manes and great symbols on their coats whose meanings are lost in the winds of time. It brings her back to the days when there were ten moons in the sky and when Mr. X was always there for her with strawberries.

In the lavender glen all animals and people lived in harmony and went out of their way to be useful and friendly to one another. In this world the elephant was the king of animals and one day he told the spring fairy that there should be a king of the rivers and marshes; in order to warn people of the coming spring rains so they could prepare the strawberry fields. After an announcement went out five animal showed up for the job... a cat, monkey, crab, toad and frog.

The Spring Fairy and Elephant presided... Cat, you do not even like water and run away at the first drops...monkey... you are too playful and forgetful...and, dear crab, you don't even have a head...where would we put your crown?  They were all kindly dismissed and given strawberries for their effort. This left just the toad and the frog.

It was decided that a race be organized between the frog and the toad to see who would reach the riverbank first. At the start of the race the toad was way ahead of the frog until it reached a ditch that must have been formed by the last heavy rains. As the frog caught up with the toad both stopped at the ditch... the frog said this ditch is nothing for me and sailed over it... the poor toad knew he had to jump over the ditch but... tumbled into it. The frog reached the riverbank first and declared the winner.

At his coronation, the king of all the animals, elephant, made a big speech. “Frog”, he said, “now that you are the King of the rivers and Marshes, your first duty is to announce the coming of the first rains by singing croo croo as loud as you can so all can get ready for the rains and strawberries. That is the reason why to this day, when people hear the frog’s song, they are very happy, because they know that the dry season is over and the rain they need to grow strawberries is on its way. The next event at the coronation was to introduce the new Mistress of Strawberries...whose home is by the magical wishing well.

The Mistress of Strawberries makes her way along country lanes and over bridges, through villages and glens ladened with strawberries and sharing them with all she meets. She is on the way to meet the new Frog Prince... and as she wanders --- she wonders... if I kiss this frog will he turn into a real prince... to help me tend my strawberries...and, perhaps magically turn into Mr. X?

Mr. X and Iris, Asema & Niobe- Three *New* Items frm Wicca's Wardrobe & New Jumo & Emo-tions Hair

My philosophy is simple. Be anything but boring. And, as Diana Vreeland said, there is no true beauty without emotion.  I like designers here with  a wide range of style and fashion sense that is sometimes uber cool and at other times flowery and almost feminine... but always sensual.  And, yes, I am talking about Wicca's Wardrobe.

I have paired Iris available at MBA through 5/31 with Wicca's new Asema collar that is also available  at Kinky through May 31. Steampunk or flowery frocks, you can wear this collar with just about anything and with its color changing hud it makes it easy to mix and match.  The dress, Iris is made for slink and maitreya bodies. The hair is also new and fabulous by Jumo and is called Amanda. I love the sexy way it frames my face but doesn't over take it. Amanda comes with a large variety of hair colors, straight and ombre shades with or without roots to choose from. I am wearing Ombre Naturals with roots.

One thing I really love about Iris is that it is as sexy from the front as it is from the back... I love low sensual back of this dress... and so does Mr. X!  Iris is an exclusive at MBA- Mesh Body Addicts through May 31.  The dress comes in a variety of shades such as sun (worn), chocolate, indigo, moss, sky and pink flowers (worn), red rose, retro & rose flower patterns.

 I like the diversity of this fabulous the Asema Collar.  It is an exclusive at the Kinky Event and comes with a fabulous color changing hud that allows you to change the metals, chains, rings, gems and spikes! I played with the collar endlessly because the hud offers so many color combinations; making it a must have.

I paired this with a wicked cool steampunk outfit by Wicca called Niobe.  It is made for Maitreya and Slink Bodies.  I love the metal accents and the deep V cut of the top in the front as well as in the back that makes it smolder. The belt is super cool and studded with metal. It has a color changing hud that allows you to change the color of the metal on the belt.

The pants  are tight and embellished with metal studs that make it eye catching. The boots have chains and buckles and look like you could walk a million miles in them! The studs on the boots compliment the studs on the pants and top pulling the entire look together.

The hair is steampunk hair from Emo-tions called Moon and, I think it is perfect with this outfit because of its wild cyber braids and tubes. There is a hud for this hair that allows you to change the color of the hair and the color of the tubes.  The glasses are also by Wicca's Wardrobe and called Niobe GOTG and they come with a color changing hud for the frames and glass.

Mr. X and the Ice Cream Truck - Heart Homes and [Aleutia]

When I think of Summer, I think of Ice Cream... I have fond memories of the ice cream man coming through the neighborhood -- ringing his bell... and stopping on the side of the road with a treasure trove of frozen goodness.  Aphrodite at Heart Homes has once again out done themselves with their new Ice Cream Truck that does everything but drive.  And, what to wear to an ice cream fest....? Zoya by [Aleutia] of course!

I love love love this "summer of love" retro ice cream truck. It comes in yellow and pink and is low prim and so very interactive. A must have for a beach party! You can make cones and dip them. There is a machine that actually fills the cones right before your very eyes!!! Magical World of Tolkien, the Tirion Forest and the Sheriwood Foundation @ Medieval Faire

Sheriwood and The Sheriwood Foundation, Inc., were envisioned and created by three women (lovingly known to us as the Three Graces).  Over ten years ago, Sheridanne Kelley (who plays the character Valier Yavanna), Bon McLeod (the character Valier Vana) and Valla Bonneto (who is our First Elder) joined forces to plan and organise their thoughts for something special within Second Life.  Vala Foulsbane (who is King Finwe of the Noldor) and Maralee Greenwood (Nerdanel, beloved of Feanor) joined the team shortly thereafter.

Together, supported by the ideas and encouragement of many other excellent artists and writers, they discussed every detail of the two original sims (Tirion Upon Tuna, the White City and Tirion Forest) on paper for about a year before even one plant or tree was planted.  Sheridanne has provided  guidance for all and the financial support needed to realise the dream over the years.

Their vision was to bring together like-minded individuals who had a thirst for peace and inspiration; who loved JRR Tolkien and the worlds he wrote about.  They selected the first seven chapters of The Silmarillion as their role play focus  -- the only interlude of peace in Tolkien's epics.

Tirion Forest took about six months of meticulous building by the amazing Bon McLeod and it was opened in February of 2008 with a wonderful ceremony attended by about 60 people.  Tirion Upon Tuna, (built by Vala Foulsbane) is a magnificent creation of Tolkien's imagination and recreated from a fine painting by Ted Nasmith.  It took nearly two years of an average of eight hours per day to build.  It is the most mathematically precise build we have ever seen in Second Life and is reserved for their most loyal members.

And then people...the most brilliant part of Sheriwood is the sincere fellowship of some brilliant minds and leaders in both worlds.  This fellowship is filled by a group of people who have devoted their time and efforts to role playing "within" the First Age, to help people get excited about reading the works of Tolkien themselves.  Maralee Greenwood is creative director of activities and helps manage the many day-to-day issues of running this stage play.  This sim has many activities and a variety of classes in everything from using blade and bow to writing challenges to stretch your creativity.

The members of this Sim are part of the Tolkien Society and have managed to attract some experts in Tolkien, including a couple of university professors...even the amazing Tolkien artist, Ted Nasmith.

As the group formed, it was apparent there were many activists among the group, so they decided to form The Sheriwood Foundation, Inc.  They received a 501(c)3 status in October of 2008.  Their aim is to use the sims as attractors of others who love reading and to awaken their recognition of how critical literacy is today in the real world.

Since then they have added additional sims to round out their storytelling stage including: The Pass of Calicirya and Valarinde (built by Bon). Two of the teams most amazing members took on the building of Elven Quest (Torgo123 Exonar (our Prince Fingolfin) and Naiya Melody (who is Anaire, princess and wife of Fingolfin)).  Finally, the group saved Helms Deep (called Aglarond) sim from destruction, making it their "continent" six full sims.

As would be expected in a sharing and caring fellowship, some of our most precious friends here have battled with cancer or have loved ones who have.  During times of treatment and recovery from treatments, many have taken comfort and rest in our "healing sim" Valarinde of the Two Trees, where there is special music and quiet places to just relax and heal.

The lands owned by this creative collaborative are for those who wish to find a fellowship of sincerely caring people who desire to make a difference in the lives of many by participating and learning more about Tolkien and the crying need of many who have no way to read his works, let alone road signs or a menu.

They took the highest contribution category for the Relay For Life Medieval Faire and have created a special gift for any we meet.  They are also joining with Torgo123 Exonar to sponsor a concert with some of the most sought after live performers in SL to attract even more interest in RFL on the 27 May.  They encourage the SL community to make time to attend and/ or donate to this event.

Since they are a registered Foundation, they do not have rentals, as is mandated by Linden Labs, but have "donation stones" for those who wish to secure homes within their community.  The essence of the members of this sim is about sharing the love of reading and writing for the benefit of those who need support to learn.

Mr X and Sandra Fabulous in Fringe by LRD @ Swank

Tapping my foot to the beat of the music. Eyeing him. He looks a little confused. I wonder if he is socially untouchable. I know I never look confused...especially wearing this  elegant dress that is an exclusive at Swank created by LRD and called Sandra.
