I told Mr. X  I have to skip the evening party with the Governor.  Of course... Mr. X said, of course, -- I can't picture you in that gorgeous dress by Sascha's Designs called Claire standing in line for cheese and crackers... yes budgets are tight -- wonders where the caviar is!

Mr. X, let's slip out  to the city bar that overlooks Manhattan -- can't you see me in the city lights sipping.... let me think,  a "Manhattan"?  I slipped on this gorgeous new silk and gold thread embroidered cocktail dress that comes in peach, lemon, purple, pink, cherry and fuscia. I love the lavish gold thread pattern

In this  cocktail dress with it's deep cut V neckline and it's three versions of skirts from layered to straight and sensual to flouncy and flirty... I cannot help but look crisp, confident and yours.

Mr. X my only question is... will you get me a refill and shall we tango into the wee hours of the morning?

Indonesia...  Bali, the word means "eye of the dawn" -- how romantic is that -- it is like a new beginning -- always... it reminds me of each day I see Mr. X... always new and so very dear.  Dewi Sri, is the goddess of life and love and rice in Indonesia -- she reigns in Hindu Bali... it is where Mr. X and I shall meet and dance on water to the sound of the gamelan.  Dewi Sri has dominion over the underworld and the moon and she is revered.

Danni Plassitz CEO of Styles by Danielle has created a gorgeous silk masterpiece, appropriately called Dewi Sri that is based on a Balinese traditional dress for Miss SL 2015 Indonesia - Mio Linette. It has layers of silk that is artfully draped and perfectly textured. As with nearly everything in Bali, dress has a divine origin and this gown is divine indeed; and -  fit for a queen or princess.

A traditional  Legong dancer has her torso wrapped in a sabuk (sash) that can be up to 15 metres in length and the lower body is wrapped in a 2 meter cloth that is extremely tight creating a beautiful silhouette. The  decorations are always made with heavy gold thread and gold printed patterns. Danni has created a gorgeous flowing skirt that exemplifies this.

As for the headpiece it an exclusive from Events@1st by Astralia called Geisha.  It comes with an ornate headpiece, bracelet and ring.  It also comes with a handy resizer making it easy to wear.

Mr. X & Chiffon, Almond & Ghee & New Gift Skin October 4 Seasons

If there was ever a cake to have a rag to riches story, a Marilyn Monroe type Hollywood discovery it is the chiffon cake, a light cake with a delicate crumb that resembles an angel food cake but is richer. Created in 1927 by Harry Baker, a "hobby chef" this cake whose secret ingredients he kept to himself for decades rose faster than the stardom of Lana Turner. After trying 400 recipes to improve on the angel cake, he used vegetable oil rather than butter or shortening in his recipe and the chiffon cake was born.  It  was sought by the high rollers of Hollywood and beyond.

Mr. X and I may not be high rollers but in this new chiffon colored gown by ghee called Ophelia, I feel like a starlet.  In addition to chiffon, Ophelia comes in dove, almond and moss.  Matching fringe top or strappy heels are sold separately and are a must have.
I feel light and airy in Ophelia "chiffon" with it's sexy bodice and lace trimmed bra top. In this outfit  --- you just dress the part -- think Lana and make a grand entrance, you will be noticed.

Another find in chiffon is this classic A-line dress in a muted floral pattern. I love the delicate side seams that add a touch of sophistication -- this is an iconic look that has been turning heads for years.

Mr. X & the Abode of Love - Wicca Merlin's new release

Mr. X told me about the gardens of Shalimar whose name in Sanskrit means abode of love.  Built for Nur Jahan (light of the palace) it is an oasis of true beauty that overwhelms. Tonight, I plan to overwhelm Mr. X in this new jumpsuit called Nuella by Wicca's Wardrobe as we explore this ancient landscape.

Nuella is fresh, flirty and fun, in a retro vintage way that makes it a must have for summer.  I love the sharp seams that add shape to the top and the way the waist breaks into pleated legs with a tapered silhouette.

The romance of flowers!  I love the soft colors of this vintage inspired floral texture of this sleeveless jumpsuit with its delicate midriff silken accent and casual scarf at the neck.  The square cut low back adds notes of distinction to Nuella.

 Shalimar has a subtle air of leisure and repose, it casts a romantic indefinable spell, Mr. X and I wander through this leafy garden of dim vistas and pavilions, past smooth sheets of falling water and wide canals whose calm reflections are broken by the stepping stones across the streams.

One night as Mr. X and I watched the sun set, I asked him if he thought zebras were white with black stripes or black with white stripes.  Mr. X told me it is an age old question with an answer that delves into genetics and selective pigmentation that creates their striking coat.  Speaking of striking, a great new shopping event -- has just "struck" the grid --Events@1st.  Here you will find deals on exclusive items before they hit the grid.

Mr. X and I went on a "shopping safari" there and found this new dress by Nya called Beach Dress.  I love the casual flow of this dress with its overlapping top and spaghetti style straps. It comes in a yellow pattern as shown and in a "scuba" pattern that is a melage of blues and aqua.

This cute dress comes in a variety of opulent patterns, I loved the almond pattern that reminds me of Ikats that are highly collectible textiles found in Southeast Asia.
