Back to Wisteria

The wisteria bloomed like a dream that refused to end. Soft cascades of violet and lilac draped from the arbor above, each blossom swaying gently in the late afternoon breeze. My skirt caught the light first—a wash of lavender silk that mirrored the petals overhead. It moved with me, not against me... my blouse, a soft mid-length fabric, flowed in harmony with the garden. The V neckline framed my collarbones like the curve of a petal, and my bell sleeves—wide, airy, almost weightless—drifted behind my arms as if they, too, were growing from some unseen vine. When the breeze came, they answered it. Not resist, not follow—answer.  I reached out absentmindedly, brushing my fingers against a trailing cluster of wisteria. The blossoms bent slightly, then returned, resilient and graceful. There was something familiar in that motion. Something I understand. In this place, color was not decoration—it was language. The silk shimmer echoed the soft gloss of petals kissed by sunlight. Even my breath seems to fall into rhythm with the garden, slow and steady, like the quiet sway of hanging flowers. I did not come here to be seen. And yet, if anyone had wandered into that moment, they would have paused—caught between wondering whether I belonged to the garden, or the garden to me.

 I’m perched on the deck of my houseboat, watching the water turn molten under the last light of day. Roaring Softly... Jumo @ Swank

 I love wearing my bandage top and sleek leopard skirt by Jumo called  Lyra. It doesn’t just sit on the body — it prowls. Her camp shimmered at the edge of the clearing. Silks in deep plum and mustard fluttered between wagons painted in fading constellations. Into Lavender

Today, I walk in a lavender garden, and the world feels hushed — as if even the wind has learned to whisper. Endless rows of violet breathe their quiet fragrance into the afternoon light. In memory. In gratitude. Your words carry the spirit of a sovereign who rewrote history: By the Nile's fertile banks, she took the throne, With wisdom and strength, a power her own.

Hatshepsut was not merely a queen beside a king — she became Pharaoh. She claimed the crook and flail. She stood in divine authority. Her reign was not marked by conquest. It was marked by vision. She sent ships instead of soldiers. She commissioned art instead of war. She built immortality in limestone and relief. Her expedition to Punt was not only trade — it was strategy, diplomacy, prosperity. Ivory, incense, gold — yes. In the heart of sunset, he turned to me with a thoughtful expression and asked, “Do you understand the principles of desire?” The question caught me off guard. I was instantly beguiled.
