 As the golden sun sank low behind the magnolia trees of Charleston, the air turned crisp with the first whispers of fall. The grand oak-lined carriage path leading to the Fairmont Manor glowed with amber leaves, rustling beneath the hooves of arriving carriages. The Autumn Ball had arrived. And so have I, in the new gown by Poison Rouge called Eda, a chestnut-colored gown worn amongst the sea of pastel gowns and silk gloves; I stood as the embodiment of the season itself.

 This gown, Eda in Chestnut, flows like the smooth fall of leaves—a breathtaking cascade of creme, chestnut, russet, and warm sienna, much like a Victorian dream. I love when a gown is as beautiful from the back as it is from the front. I know that the rich layers of silk and taffeta catch the gleam of candlelight as I move. A delicate ruffle frames the neckline and sleeves, adding an ethereal softness to my elegant silhouette. 

As I stepped through the grand double doors of the Southern ballroom—filled with golden chandeliers, sweeping staircases, and music lilting from a string quartet—every gentleman turned to admire me. Murmurs flitted through the room like flocks of sparrows."Why, who is that vision of fall's finest beauty?" "Never have I seen a lady wear the season so well." "She must be the Autumn Belle herself." An array of well-dressed suitors, from dashing young heirs to silver-haired colonels, vying for my attention, offered dances and declarations of admiration. For me, this night is a celebration of warmth before winter, a moment of grace before change, and beauty born in the hues of the harvest. And as the night deepened and music echoed through the Southern sky, the Autumn Belle danced on—forever etched in the memory of Charleston’s most unforgettable evening.

Alone, I come upon the glade — a forgotten patchwork of light and story. The silence here is sacred, ancient. Stepping Into History With Salish -Luxe Paris @ Swank

Today in SL, I’m channeling ancient elegance in the fabulous new look called Salish by Luxe Paris! There’s something utterly captivating about its tribal desert vibe—it’s almost as if I’ve been whisked away to the golden sands of ancient Egypt. I found myself longing to wander through time, back to the days of Queen Hatshepsut and her breathtaking mortuary temple at Deir el-Bahri. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a stunning replica of this historic temple right here in SL!

But who was Hatshepsut, and what makes her temple so special? Known as the “Foremost of Noble Women,” Hatshepsut was one of Egypt’s few—and most successful—female pharaohs. Her reign, from around 1458 BCE to 1479, was a time of peace, prosperity, and bold ambition. She launched legendary trade expeditions, returning with treasures like gold, ebony, and incense from the distant land of Punt (probably modern-day Eritrea). Determined to leave her mark, Hatshepsut commissioned awe-inspiring buildings, including the majestic Temple of Deir el-Bahri.

Hatshepsut’s temple is a marvel of ancient architecture, featuring its three grand terraces, sweeping ramps, and magnificent columns that blend seamlessly with the cliffs behind it. Inside, detailed reliefs tell stories of her divine birth, her successful expeditions, and her powerful rule. Even though tradition often depicted her as a male pharaoh, Hatshepsut cleverly ensured that her true identity shone through, using titles like “Daughter of Re” and “His Majesty, Herself.”

Despite attempts to erase her legacy after her death, Hatshepsut’s achievements have endured. Thanks to decades of careful restoration, her temple at Deir el-Bahri now stands as one of Egypt’s most iconic and best-preserved monuments—a shining tribute to a remarkable queen who broke boundaries and rewrote history.  So, as I wander SL in my Luxe Paris look, I can’t help but feel inspired by the strength, vision, and timeless style of Queen Hatshepsut herself.

Butterfly and More Aura Designs and Venus Tattoo @ Swank

Wrapped in fluttering grace, my butterfly outfit, made by Aura Designs, called Spring Race, feels like it was stitched by the goddess of spring herself—bright, delicate, and joyfully alive. Every step along the garden path awakens bursts of color and gentle movement, as blossoms sway and butterflies swirl around me, as if they recognize a kindred spirit. 

From head to toe, Spring Race is a true celebration of whimsy.  I love being able to play with every delicate detail thanks to the HUD: from sparkling flower earrings and soft pastel panties to the sculpted butterfly top that seems to float effortlessly across my skin. The skirt—an artful dance of blooms and wings—catches the light with every twirl. And those sandals? They’re the perfect finishing touch, with dainty butterflies and flowers curling around my ankles like they bloomed just for me. Lost in Kyoto - AnaStyle and Slack Girl @ Swank

The sun was just beginning to yawn above the rooftops of Gion when I stepped onto the cobblestone streets of Kyoto, wrapped in ritual and reverence in a new kimono by AnStyle. My white silk kimono, soft but structured, shimmered beneath the first light like it, too, was waking. Embellished by a black embroidered dragon, the silk moved with intention, not just clothing, but armor woven with centuries of story. It curled around my shoulder and down my back, silent but powerful. The black silk obi cinched me into place, steadying my breath like a whispered mantra.

A woman at a teahouse looked up and nodded, eyes tracing the dragon — not with judgment, but curiosity. Respect, even. The old Kyoto blends tradition like matcha: bitter and beautiful, grounding and green. Past lanterns suspended like fireflies, waiting for dusk. Past sliding wooden doors half-open to reveal tatami floors and stillness you could practically sip. My hand skimmed the edge of a red torii gate. My reflection caught in a lacquered shop window — half warrior, half dream. The dragon on the front of my kimono stared back, undeterred.

As it started to rain, I opened my black and white umbrella and walked on - And I walked on — slow, deliberate, eternal. Just a woman and her dragon, Wandering Kyoto.
