Colors and Mr. X - !Lyrical B!zarre at Saviad

Everything conveys something. Colors reveal moods.  Yellow: Joy. Blue: Affectionate. Pink: Teasing.  !Lyrical B!zaare has created a garden of these delightful colors in two gorgeous dresses and one gown that are exclusive must haves at Saviad Spring Fashion Fair.

The flowing relaxed details of this dress in pink called Sanseveria II  reminds me of the colors of dawn, where the sun is starting to rise into the horizon and a new glorious day of hope ascends with it.  I love the unconstructed fit of this dress with its kimono-like fit and side seams that flair out on the early morning breeze.

The yellow version Sanseveria III has different details like the V neckline and pattern in the center of the dress.I love yellow and orange and they are hot on the runway.  Wearing this I think about the sun dipping into the horizon as I wait for Mr. X to arrive.  The lobster ceviche is ready but the cocktails will take some time...crushed ice, lemon, aperol, whistle pig rye, amaro and muddled blackberry and nectarine.  Does it get any better than that?

The final exclusive at Saviad is a formal gown called Sanseveria I that is unforgettable in a gorgeous shade of blue that remind me of Mr. X's eyes at high noon.  But, this gown is for a wonderful night with its touches of lavender and blue...perfect for a spring dream and dancing  under the stars in a gorgeous garden.

I have paired this look with the fabulous new skin by October 4 Seasons that comes with 5 make up versions, thin and thick brows, butterfly tattoos and options for freckles all over !  It is fresh and wonderful.

Asmara and Mr. X - new release by Resun and New Skin by October 4 Seasons

Asmara is the dress you have been waiting for. Swing through the spring and summer season in this  dress that creates a stunning silhouette!

A sexy scoop neckline with luscious pleating down the front of this sensational mini you can be assured that every eye will be on you.  I love the tank top under the mini giving it a hip layered look. Asmara comes with a handy color changing hud giving you ten color options that run the gamut of colors.

I have paired this dress with the new skin by October 4 Seasons called Rehana Pearl that comes with 5 make up shades with options for  thin and thick brows. Best of all it comes with a sexy butterfly tattoo on your lower stomach perfect for bathing suits. Rehana Pearl also comes with a freckle option - full body freckle option -- Mr. X loves this. There are slink and other appliers as well as lip options There is a fresh innocence to this skin that is Irresistible.

So Mr. X shall we take a stroll in the rain and look for the daffodils that are the first heralds of spring?

19,967 miles later and Mr. X - ghee @ FFC

Fashion for Change runs through April 25.   In a nutshell,  Fashion For Change (FFC) is a thoughtfully curated event by Eleseren Brianna CEO of Romance Couture.  This  is a two week shopping, entertainment and high fashion event designed to raise funds for the charity Womankind Worldwide.  This organization is  an admirable and important RL group based in the UK whose mission is to  help women in the developing world. Get there.

This fabulous exclusive jumpsuit by ghee called Tropicana with its whimsical  tribal texture is perfect for exploration.   I told Mr. X sometimes you have to stop working like time is the enemy and just go.  Let's trace the steps of Stanley and Livingstone through the heart of Africa; climb the San Juan Mountains in Durango and soak in the hot springs in Iceland.

Tropicana comes in four multi-colored textures Fandango, Grapetini, Lagoon and Tango.  It also includes a turban styled headpiece giving the look a touch of that harkens back to tribal roots that make this jumpsuit even more chic. I have paired ---- with vintage sunglasses Awe by Sonatta Morales and new beads from Mandala. For this blog I am wearing Lagoon and Tango.

19,767 miles later... Mr. X and I are still energized and ready to keep exploring.  Mr. X told me a secret I will share with you..."Sita, sometimes you have to get lost to be found."  It's probably superfluous to say that this jumpsuit travels well!

The Queen of Dhukla and Mr. X at Fashion for Change

Get there.

The theme of the event is "ethnic goes haute" and with that in mind, I am wearing the gorgeous new exclusive made for this event by AlaFolie called Dhukla. I love the shimmering leather top with its sexy golden leather laces and the wide  flowing gold on gold skirt  that is perfectly textured.  This is a complete outfit that comes with hair, a head piece and lots and lots of gorgeous jewelry.

I have paired this outfit with the new skin by October 4 Seasons called Mocha Jewel -- it is just perfect for this  look -- and comes with 5 make up options, brows or no brows, thin or thick, appliers and lip options as well. The best   is that this skin is rich in color and accentuates this look and will make you shine... as a Queen of Dhukla.

Dhukla comes with a lot of  African inspired jewelry.   An  example of shell bead jewelry,75,000 years old is some of the oldest jewelry known and discovered in a cave in South Africa. Tribal African jewelry is made from natural materials such as ivory, wood, amber, shells, bone, metal, hair and stone.  The bracelets, necklaces, waist chains, beading and head adornments of this dress is a perfect example of tribal chic jewelry.

Tribal jewelry tells a story, depending on the culture and the times -- jewelry has been used for everything from defining social status to ritual dances to a form of  money.  What story shall I tell Mr. X when I wear this dress?  I know, I will tell him to support Womankind and donate to this fantastic and meaningful event.

Mr. X & Giraffe Women - Baboom Couture Fashion for Change

A vision of exotic.. burning sun like desire.  Intricate batik patterns are like sublimation textured on this gorgeous Asian sensation  by Baboom Couture called Mandala.  Batik originates in Java, Mr. X and I love to watch this exquisite dyeing process where a wax resistant dye is applied in lavish designs of dots and lines allowing the artist to select a fanciful selection of colors making each hand batiked piece a treasure for years to come.

I remember the day Mr. X and I wandered the lanes behind the Taman Sari water castle in Java a former royal garden of the Sultan of Yogyakarta... a bathing area where the concubines would bathe while waiting for the sultan's choice... hmmm Mr. X liked that idea....
The necklace of Mandala is like the necklaces worn by the Kayan women of northern Thailand and Burma, yes, I say Burma, not Myanmar.  The Kayan tribe has a custom where women that wear the "rings" around their necks to create an appearance of a long neck -- sometimes called giraffe women. Coils can weigh up to 25 pounds and depress the shoulders and chest.. they don't really make the neck longer... some  women enjoy upholding this tradition, others feel pressured to endure the painful custom to make a living..... as an estimated 40,000 tourists pay $8-$16 to stop by the hill tribe villages in Thailand to gaze upon these women and take a photo.  It all comes down to ethics; for me this arrangement makes me uncomfortable.

Prisilla and Mr. X -- Wicca's Wardrobe for FFC

You lean against a boardwalk railing, being sultry and licking ice cream at the same time, holding his shoes.... Mr. X says-- those ribbon colored boots are sweet beyond words... I  wonder what he has in mind.... but really, Wicca Merlin has made a fabulous  new outfit called Prisilla  Marsala  for Fashion for Change.  This dress  is replete with yummy ribbon colored boots...and a dashing geometric paisley pattern of  opulent  indian origin that  dates to the court of the Moghuls.

“You shouldn't be dressed that way,” he says. Pretending sternness.“What way? It's just a dress.” Pretending innocence." We've been married for two decades but still know how to get each other's pulses pounding.

And so does this  dress -- with the tight belt and flouncy flirty skirt... oh... yes... let's get the blood  mmm mm  up!

When you wear this dress, with its swirling  cool  mint and  clove colored swirling  textures  -- they will accentuate  you  in the evening light,  and all will know that  when you walk ... well they are  aware that your walk liquefies, your pace slows and nuanced gestures emerge.  Refuse the second rate. Refuse the untimeless. He'd break windows to get to you.

Fashion for Change Haute goes Ethnic - Styles by Danielle

Fashion for Change starts today and runs through April 25.   In a nutshell,  Fashion For Change is a fantastic two week shopping, entertainment and high fashion event designed to raise funds for the charity Womankind Worldwide - an admirable and important RL group that has been around for 25 plus years and is based in the UK with the mission of helping women in the developing world.  The theme of the event is "ethnic goes haute" and with that in mind, I am wearing the gorgeous new exclusive made for this event by Styles by Danielle called  Ivona.  And don't miss Danni Sunday April 12 at 12 noon -- she sings like an angel... and she is so special.

Ivona is a wine colored silk gown that is fit for a empress with its intricate baroque inspired gold thread traditional embroidery from Croatia.  Here, embroidery is a lavish floral artform garnished with geometric patterns made with gold and silver thread for clothing made from silk or wool.

Cutwork, applique embroidery work on Ivona add elegance.  I love the shimmering gold scarves draped at each shoulder that adds a sensational flair as you sweep into view with every eye on you.

Diversity is the main characteristic of the Croatioan woman folk artist whose work with fabric and her use of colors, threads, weaving patterns and intricate embroidery stitches come together to create a beautiful and traditional look that reflects the life of her rich culture heritage.  Ivona reflects this perfectly.

Ivona also comes with a traditional headpiece made of flowers (vijenac) that adds elegance to this look. You may spend a few extra minutes in the mirror when wearing this gown. Stare. Get to know yourself. There is no greater mystery. Nor reward.

Your recollection of history may come down to the rosiest of shades. The grandest of grand. Positively positive. Don’t worry, vanity isn’t calamity. Just get this gown!  Shall we dance Mr. X?

About Womankind

Womankind Worldwide is a UK based, international Women’s Rights charity working to help women transform their lives and communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

It celebrated it's 25th Anniversary last year (2014).

The Charity's motto is 'Equal, Respected, Proud' and its vision is of a world where being a woman does not limit choices, opportunities or rights, where ever she lives.

The Charity's aim is to support local Women’s Rights organizations and smaller local women's groups.  These groups, often at great personal risk to themselves, are challenging discrimination, human rights abuses and violence towards women within the countries and communities they are based in.

Womankind delivers the essential support – funding, expertise, contacts and publicity that these local grass roots women’s organizations need to amplify their voice, increase their impact and bring about greater change in their communities.

Womankind's approach is not to impose a 'top down' solution but to help and empower the women's groups it works with to achieve their own solutions and change. Womankind Worldwide also works in wider arenas, to lobby for change , working to influence the powers and practices of governments and non-governmental organizations.

While not being a very large charity, over the 25 years of its existence it has supported directly and indirectly over 18 million women and their families. In 2013, for instance, it worked in 15 countries, directly supported almost 141,000 women, and helped improve the rights of over 6 million women. In 2013 as an example, it worked in Afghanistan, Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nepal, Peru, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

What follows is just a tiny example of the schemes, large and small, that it has helped.

Afghanistan - In Jalalabad WW helped a a legal aid center run by a local Women's Organization to provide free legal support to 175 women, psychosocial support to 70 women/girls and basic health treatment to 46 women

Bolivia - WW helped 550 indigenous and peasant women leaders in 5 out of the country’s 9 regions to acquire the knowledge to challenge discrimination and they are now actively participating in local politics.

Liberia - WW helped develop a manual to help the police improve how they manage cases involving violence against women and girls, especially rape

Tanzania - WW worked with the Women's Legal Aid Center in the Nyarugusu camp to support refugee paralegal units to take action on violence against women, and other human rights abuses, and they trained the wider community to recognize, promote and protect the rights of refugee women, children and men.

Nepal - WW helped Dalit tribal women’s political participation and their understanding of local political processes

Ethiopia - over five years, alongside another charity, WW worked with local communities to raise awareness of women's rights, violence against women and harmful traditional practices. Just one result of this work was that 250,000 girls escaped genital mutilation.

That is only a tiny sample, the list could go on for hours....

This is a charity where even small donations can make a significant difference, because the money is targeted to make maximum and lasting impact. Some examples are shown below.

$20 US could train a police person in Peru in issues of sexual exploitation, violence and women’s rights to ensure that they better support trafficked women and women in prostitution.

$60US could train a community paralegal in Ghana, to provide legal support to survivors of violence, helping them to obtain child custody, a divorce or to keep their home.

$300US could train 25 Aymara women in Bolivia to educate other women in their communities on women’s rights, violence and leadership.

Looking at the figures, you can see that there is a real chance that money raised in Second Life could make a real difference somewhere.

Saviad Fashion Fair Now open - AD exclusive & Mr. X

Soft pastels remind me of the sweet kisses Mr. X gives me and the way his hair blows on my shoulders as we dance... like a soft wisp of enchantment.  Speaking of enchantment, I discovered AD's exclusive gown at Saviad called Oltre -- it reminds Mr. X and I of Spring bursting  like a flower out of the earth.

Saviad is open now thru April 18 get there ...  Look at Oltre-- it  has a filigreed  skirt with a most delicate pattern of lace and spider webs it is complicated and it flows and sways in the breeze. It is elegance in motion when I walk the grid.... Mr. X loves this.... so will you!

The belt of flowers around the waist is amazing --- very artfully  designed and evokes the way I feel sometimes as Mr. X takes my hand and leads me onto the dance floor... I feel loved and like walking art.   The headpiece is like a mysterious creature of the sea that is ever so beguiling.  I love the luxuriant tentacles that radiate from the headpiece and the way they flow on the breeze.

Oltre  comes in three fabulous pastel shades..... each with their own allure... and this gown is alluring...Mr. X cannot take his eyes off me -- telling me that love is in the springtime air indeed! Mr. X will you follow me up the stairs........ ?

Cocytus - a LEA 18 build and AFI's new release

Dante's Inferno  I have found the deepest darkest level on Lea 18 created by Frankx Lefavre. The 9th circle ringed by classical and Biblical giants that are not merely fraudulent...they are treacherous...and frozen in a lake known as Cocytus...encased in ice.

"Midway on our life's journey, I found myself in dark woods, the right road lost."

Here Satan in waist deep in ice beating his wings and weeping as if trying to escape...the icy wind he generates only encases him deeper into the ice.  Here Satan is impotent and full of his own hatred in this frozen wasteland.

When exploring this sim, I decided to wear the brand new release by AFI Designs called Crucify -- really what could be more appropriate!

This has a gothic vibe with a twist, I really like the pink crosses (this is also made with black and red crosses) because it adds a touch of gothic double dare! Mr. X  likes that, a lot!

At the end of the day Mr. X, a person that has not passed and conquered the inferno of his or her passions has never overcome them.

ghee exclusive at Savaid Spring Fair

Mr. X told me that I should be adopting a "tropical" state of mind...after all spring is here and summer is on the way.  He left me a gift box from ghee with a note that said..."Sita, here is something to get you in the mood -- as this is ghee's latest in "Wisteria".  Ah, the romance of wisteria......and this fabulous new exclusive at Savaid by ghee

This shift has gorgeous wide horizontal stripes in variegated colors that make it an instant classic and must have for your summer look. It also comes with ruffled ankle high matching heels, really cool glasses and a pocketbook... to stow all your tropical treasures in!

When I think of tropics, being spoiled by Mr. X, I think of luxurious resorts and what better to wear than the new simple shift by ghee that comes in Peony, Wisteria and Hyacinth.

Think warm beaches, glistening and dancing under swaying palm trees to a rumba beat. This new dress by ghee will take you there.  It is an exclusive at the Saviad Spring Fair that takes place from April 10 - April 18 and showcases some of the top designers in SL.
