Mr. X & Mandalay - meets Memphis NEW-Sonatta Morales

Mandalay in the 1930's the twilight of the Raj, I can hear the far off melodies of clarinets and the tinkling of temple bells floating on the jasmine scented breeze as I wait for Mr. X. Like Mandalay itself, I have adorned myself in the chiaroscuro of romance in this new gown called Memphis by Sonatta Morales.

Tonight I wait for Mr. X high in the hills ... I can hear the chants and see the incense to the Nats... those 37 spirits that are so much part of the culture of Myanmar.... and yes we have been on and around the road to Mandalay for so long that we have lost count of the years...they just fly by.

I recall watching the sunset with Mr. X as we drifted down the tea-colored waters of the Irrawaddy River. We marveled at the sacred Sagaing Hills crowed with hundreds of golden shrines and pagodas. Their ornate roofs and gleaming spires soar above the tropical foliage just like the lustrous cavalcade of glimmering golden threads that criss cross this fabulous gown in total deco decadence.
